Considering the importance of scientific medical conferences nationwide and the increasing participation of specialists and surgeons across the country, the 15th Annual Colorectal Conference, focusing on “Common Challenges in Colorectal Surgery,” was held on October 16-17, 2024, in Shiraz, in collaboration with the Colorectal Research Center and the Colorectal Surgery Department of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. This two-day conference brought together specialists in general surgery, colorectal surgery, internal medicine, gastroenterology and hepatology, anesthesiology, nutrition, dermatology, rehabilitation, nuclear medicine, general practitioners, and nurses. The event featured presentations and discussions on new approaches to overcoming major challenges in colorectal surgery (both pre- and post-operative, as well as decision-making processes for these surgeries).
